President predicts strong first quarter for MTI

February 22, 2016

Allen Yun, president of Microelectronics Technology (MTI), a manufacturer of telecoms equipment, has predicted a 25% increase in revenues for the first quarter of this year compared to the first quarter of 2015.

The increase in revenues will be boosted by the strong growth of the company’s low noise block (LNB) devices and its power amplifiers (PAs) for mobile telecom base systems.

2015 saw MTI’s shipments of PA products increase 45% compared to 2006. In the market segment of CDMA2000 base stations, MTI’s PA products have a 10% global market share.

LNB and very small aperture terminal (VSAT) systems increased 40% in 2015 compared to 2006. LNB product shipments are likely to increase by a futher 10% in 2016.

MTI reported after-tax profits of NT$454 million for 2015, an increase of 21% compared to 2006. This is equivalent to a net earnings per share (EPS) of $1.07, compared to NT$1.01 in 2006. Gross margin for the year was 20.1%, down from 22% in 2015.
